According to Demi Lovato‘s rep, the Camp Rock star has “left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time.” Tabloids are saying Demi checked into rehab for a variety of medical issues, from eating disorders to cutting, but these reports are unconfirmed.

“Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that. She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future,” her rep added.

Demi has spent the last few months touring with the Jonas Brothers. Just last week, Demi posed and smiled for photographers at a Jonas Brothers press conference in Mexico City.

We wish you well, Demi, and we know you’ll be back and better than ever in no time!

UPDATE: People.com is reporting that she has struggled with eating disorders and self mutilation for years, according to a close family friend.

Demi has spoken out about her body issues in the past, telling People: “I have a tattoo on my rib and it says, ‘You make me beautiful,’” she said. “There was a song that inspired me when I was younger and it helped me through a really rough time I used to have self-image issues.”

“Feeling comfortable in your clothes is something I deal with to this day. I wish I had somebody I had to look up to when I was younger to stand up and say, ‘Hey, I have fat days.’ So I want to be able to start a foundation or something that’s for girls feeling confident, to empower them,” she added.
