On being recognized: “I’ve since cut off all my hair so I don’t get approached by Alice fans anymore, but at the time it was such a shock. I just really needed to get out of LA.”

On staying grounded: “There’s a lot of babying that comes with the job, but when I’m back home, where there’s currently seven of us—my mom, my dad, my brother, my sister, her boyfriend, and their newborn—cramped into a little house, I’m definitely brought back down to earth. It’s like, ‘Mia! Take out the garbage!’ They don’t let me get away with anything, which is good.”

On dealing with fame: “I’ve always tried really hard to make sure people have a good impression of me. But I care a bit less about that now. I’m more chilled-out, and I’m not taking it too seriously.”

On acting: “When I started acting, I felt like a visitor in a foreign land. But a few years have passed, and now this world is mine.”

    DonDraper says:

Misleading headline. Mia cut her hair as a requirement for a movie she shot in 2009, not to throw off Alice in Wonderland fans. She’s simply saying that she doesn’t get recognized anymore by Alice fans ever since she went short.

And she has five projects in the works or soon to be released, not seven.
