Josh Hutcherson isn’t the only Kids Are All Right star who’s doing more than “all right” for himself. Mia Wasikowska, best known as leading lady in Alice in Wonderland, is on the cusp of greatness (with seven and counting movies in the works) and for good reason. Just look at her!
Click on for Mia’s take on chilling out and chopping her Alice locks…
On being recognized: “I’ve since cut off all my hair so I don’t get approached by Alice fans anymore, but at the time it was such a shock. I just really needed to get out of LA.”
On staying grounded: “There’s a lot of babying that comes with the job, but when I’m back home, where there’s currently seven of us—my mom, my dad, my brother, my sister, her boyfriend, and their newborn—cramped into a little house, I’m definitely brought back down to earth. It’s like, ‘Mia! Take out the garbage!’ They don’t let me get away with anything, which is good.”
On dealing with fame: “I’ve always tried really hard to make sure people have a good impression of me. But I care a bit less about that now. I’m more chilled-out, and I’m not taking it too seriously.”
On acting: “When I started acting, I felt like a visitor in a foreign land. But a few years have passed, and now this world is mine.”
