Breaking news, guys! Keke Palmer, the star of Nickelodeon‘s True Jackson VP, has just been tapped to star in a brand-new Nickelodeon TV movie called Rags! The movie, where Keke will play international pop star Kadee, brings along another one of our fave Nickelodeon stars, Nick Cannon, who will be behind the camera executive producing. Awesome!
So what exactly is this Rags movie, anyway?
Rags is going to be the modern-day, musical version of Cinderella and it will be set in NYC. But rather than using the typical Cinderella story of a poor orphaned girl who’s mistreated by her stepmother, Rags is the story of a boy named Charlie Prince (played by Max Schneider) living with his stepfather and stepbrothers, who dreams of one day becoming a singer but can’t seem to catch his big break. We’re guessing this is where Keke will step in as the pop star slash love interest. We like this idea of a Cinder-boy for a change!

I love Keke Palmer as an actress and I believe this is a great new modern twist on a classical story. It’s going to be great I already looked at Max’s super cute so the movie gets a definate plus in my view. Can’t wait to watch it. I know I’ll buy the movie when it’s out.
