Several years ago whilst I was goirwng in a role I was asked to lead my team of peers. I was then placed in a position where I had to performance manager people that i had been working with for years. There had been no effective formal feedback provided prior and it was a very difficult situation to manage, but it had to be done. If I did not take action morale in the team would have went down hill. I must say it was the most difficult thing to do but in the end it was the best way to lead.
