Not gonna lie — sometimes the life of a Teen.com editor is AWESOME. Like when we got to go to New Orleans, LA, to hang out on the set of 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and super hottie Dave Franco. And aside from learning that Jonah is just as hilarious in person (more on that later), we learned that the flick, an “action-comedy,” is about Jonah and Channing playing cops who go undercover in a high school and pretend to be students. And it’s gonna be quoteworthy. And funny. And we can’t wait.
We can’t tell you too much about the movie (yet!), but click on for some info straight from the actors on what you can expect. One word: Awesomeness….
Jonah, on remaking the original 21 Jump Street show for a teenage audience: “I talk to 16-year-olds and they don’t know what 21 Jump Street is.
Channing: “Not a clue.”
Jonah: “And when they say, “Whoa, what’s that about?” and I’m like, “It’s about young-looking cops going back to high school” and they’re like, “Sick. I’d see that.” It’s such a cool idea to get to experience high school again.”
Jonah on the romance in the film: “It’s kind of like a sweet, high school, puppy love type of thing, but it’s very much forbidden because I’m lying and pretending to be eighteen or seventeen and actually an adult police officer.”
Channing: “They can’t have sex. That’s what he’s saying.”
Dave, on having an open relationship like his character, Eric: “It’s a little more true to life where everyone’s kind of hooking up with everyone. I think between friends kind of encourage each other to hook up with the same girls. They think it’s kind of cool and it kind of bonds them.”
Jonah on going shirtless: “Um, I’m in a track uniform. But I’m assuming that question’s aimed more at Channing…”
The movie hits March 16, 2012! Are you going to see it? What’s your fave Jonah Hill movie? Tell us in the comments and be sure to stay tuned for more exclusive coverage from the set of 21 Jump Street!
