When you really think about it, there aren’t too many celebrities who just focus on one area of the entertainment industry anymore. A lot of the top actors have dabbled in music (and vice versa). How many are actually good at it is a whole other story. Take Scarlett Johansson, for example. While she’s beyond incredibly gorgeous talented in the acting department, her singing skills are… so-so. But with a little hard work (and autotune), she sounds just like any other “singer” in her new virtual duet of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” with Dean Martin. In fact, we kinda like it.
While we’re not sure where we’d place ScarJo on our talented-singer meter, here are our Top 5 Actors-Turned-Singers (female edition), and the 5 Celebrities-Who-Shouldn’t-Quit-Their-Day-Jobs-for-a-Singing-Career.

BEST: Demi Lovato — “Catch Me”/”Don’t Forget” (Live)
We’re sure we don’t need to emphasize just how talented D.Lo is — especially when she’s giving a live performance. Hello, remember when she sang the National Anthem this year?! We rest our case.
WORST: Kim Kardashian — “Jam (Turn It Up)”
Even autotune couldn’t help Kimmy’s not-made-to-sing voice. Maybe she should stick to other kinds of recordings, if you catch our drift.
BEST: Leighton Meester — “The Stand In” (Live)
Ever since Leight teamed up with Cobra Starship on “Good Girls Go Bad,” we’ve been obsessed with her voice. At least we know that when GG‘s dunzo (which will probably be soon) she could have a decent music career ahead of her.
WORST: Ashley Tisdale — “Not Like That”
Alright, so the Tis’ voice isn’t awful. But her songs are just plain embarrassing…
BEST: Selena Gomez — “Who Says” (Live)
We were a little shocked when Selly got a recording contract, considering her terrible lip-sync performance on Hannah Montana. Who knew she was actually kinda good?
WORST: Lindsay Lohan — “Confessions of a Broken Heart” (Live)
It’s been a while since we heard the musical stylings of LiLo. And it’s prob for the best, too.
BEST: Miley Cyrus — “When I Look At You” (Live)
MiCy had a whole show centered around being a singer, so her rise to being a popstar was inevitable.
WORST: Paris Hilton — “Nothing in This World”
Just because you have money doesn’t mean you can buy talent.

Selena Gomez can’t sing to save her life. She’s an okay actress, not great. She should just quit music. She can’t even perform. Oh mi word, I think she’s one of the worst singers EVER!!! Paris sings better than her.
Selena is a great singer, definitively not the best, but nevertheless still good. Demi and Miley are amazing 100% of the time. Not the best role models, but they’re good people with bad mistakes. Kim, Paris, Lindsay and whomever I may be forgetting: they’re all the same; plastic barbie dolls that are insanely rich for no reason and total b***hes. But whomever you are talking about: DO NOT judge them on being untalented and not being able to do anything, because, if you all are so much more talented than them, why am I not seeing you on TV, or hearing you on the radio, or seeing you on the top charts of billboard, or i-tunes or MTV??
You’re all a bunch of morons for liking any of these twits. Demi Lavato? Ashley Tisdale? None of them could sing their way out of a paper bag if their lives depended on it. Who buys this shit? Oh right, you all do. Here’s an idea. Why don’t you go out and buy some actual music with artists who can actually sing, and oh, I don’t know, write a song with some actual fucking depth and significance, and something that stirs your spirit instead of this soul-sucking dreck you call “music.”

A lot of celebs are famous and aren’t talented. Look at Paris Hilton. She even sings better than selena. You’re probably just too busy admiring her baby face to see –or rather HEAR the truth. Only disney would give that girl a recording contract. But yeah, you keep on disney dreaming lol

Im surprised how u listed SG as one of the best. She is the worst of the worsts.. And that who says live performance is the only..only one which is good so i doubt it isn’t edited because she wasnt singing in front of a crowd so they could just computerise her voice

Ashley tisdale is a very talented singer. She toured the world with Les Mis (broadway) when she was 7. Sang at the white house for President Clinton at the age of 12. She isn’t an actress-turned-singer. She is an actress AND singer. (and a great one)
And Selena can’t sing. She’s a good actress, but CANNOT SING.
