We had really high hopes for last night’s Glee, “Hold on to Sixteen,” mainly because Chord Overstreet returned, but also because it was sectionals. Kind of a huge deal. And we’ve gotta say, the songs they sang were pretty freakin’ awesome. “Survivor?” OMG! But the storylines? Most of ‘em were just plain ridiculous. Hence why we’re going to tell you the 5 things that happened on the episode that are pretty unrealistic. And we’re dying to know if you agree…
MORE: Recap of Glee Season 3, Episode 7!
1. Quinn is nice all of a sudden. Wasn’t it just two weeks ago that Quinn wanted to sabotage Shelby and steal Beth away from her? Yes. And now, she opted out of telling Figgins about Shelby’s affair with Puck in order to be nice (with urging from Rachel, but still). And even nicer? She basically invited the Troubletones to sing with New Directions for the rest of the school year to “make the most of our senior year.” Um, what? Is Quinn bipolar or something?
2. Sam works as a stripper. Rachel and Finn head to Kentucky to try to urge Sam to come back to McKinley — but it takes convincing to get him to leave his high-paying job as a, uh, male dancer. Isn’t it illegal for everyone people under 18 to strip? And how exactly did Finchel get into the bar that is so clearly for 21 and over? Makes no sense. But regardless, it worked…
3. Sam tells New Directions that they need to use sex appeal in order to win sectionals, but Blaine is just not having it. He’s used to winning on talent alone when he was a Warbler, you guys. But leave it to Finn (possibly the most annoying character this season) to tell Blaine that they need him to win the competish and that he should do whatever it takes. Our point here? Blaine’s outburst in the gym was so random and unlike him.
4. Tina talks to Mike’s dad about how passionate he is about dancing. It’s sort of weird for Tina to get all up in Mike’s business, but the strangest part about it all was that she literally showed up at Dad’s office (ya know, the Dad that wants Mike to be a doctor). How did Tina know where he worked? How’d she get in? Did she just leave school to do that? We’re confused. But nonetheless her efforts worked, since Dad showed up to sectionals and agreed that Mike should apply to dancing schools to pursue his dream. Phew.
5. New Directions wins sectionals — even without Rachel. Come on. We all know Rach is the shining star of that group. But somehow ND still won with lead vocals from Tina, Blaine, Kurt and Quinn. We’re happy and all, but wasn’t the Troubletones’ performance way better? And wait, how come New Directions sang 3 songs but the other groups only sang one each? We demand a recount!
What did you think of the episode? What was the most realistic or unrealistic thing about it? Are you glad Sam’s back? Will the Troubletones eventually rejoin New Directions? The comments await!

Wow glee has really gotten dramatic!!! i so wont to be on glee it would be fun!!!! So what did Sam name the baby and wat is it!?!?!
Mike’s dad reaction was totally predictable, it would have been better if Mike’s mum was there (since she was the one who supported him) with his dad but no, the guy shows up alone.
I disagree with what you say about the Blaine and Finn thing. Blaine is very nice guy, doesn’t complain too much but there are moments where everyone, including the quiet people, have to get out their feelings. He was angry and wasn’t going to do what Finn told him any more. I believe that was a great scene, I was beginning to think Blaine was a coward and, of course, being a huge fan of Darren I loved that he was able to show other side of him, he’s a really good actor but in Glee you don’t get to see that very often.
Finally, The Troubletones were great but New Directions moved me, they actually made me cry.
This is just my humble opinion, please don’t get mad.
New Directions were not very good. Tina was all right for the ABC bit. Control was such a terrible song. Finn really IS the most annoying character on the show. He ruined Man in the Mirror.
On the other hand, we have an awesome mashup featuring Mercedes and Santana, two vocal powerhouses, singing I Will Survive/Survivor with a level of awesomeness that was the only real highlight of the show. When sectionals ended and the lights went out on them, I’m sure everyone else was thinking the same thing — WTF?
I hope the troubletones will still have a subsection within the New Directions, as mentioned by Quinn. They’re good, and the show’s producers know they’re good. They’d be dumb not to keep them given how many iTunes sales the Adele mashup generated.
THANK YOU!!!! My point exactly……..WTF WTH…………Finn can go somewhere with his wanna be justin bieber lookin ass……..i would the shit off his face if i ever saw him.
I agree with everything here. Also, improbable relationships reach whole new heights on this show. Puck and Zizes? Sam and Mercedes? Glee please.

Okay, whoever wrote this was stupid. It is a show, get the hell over it! Tiny is DATING Mike, don’t you know here your boyfriend/girlfriends parents work? I know where my boyfriends family works. The Troubletones’ sucked because they went from wanting to get out of Rachel’s spot light to Mercedes and Santana running the show, so, they were doing exactly what Rachel did. As for Sam, fake ids, most teens have them these days and they actually work, if you can’t face that then please go back to high school.
It is also a show, they don’t have time to show nine songs! So, they give you a tastes of some of the other songs and then show you what everyone wants, New Directions and their performance! Oh and as for Quinn, she could still have shit up her sleeve, or Shelby and Rachel may have helped her to honestly see why she gave Beth up in the first place.
Just saying, but again, it is a show!

THE NEW DIRECTIONS WON YEAH GO GLEE AND NEW DIRECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with teen.com I luv glee but this episode was a little confusing and to add to this review. Didn’t they mention that mike CAN’T sing which is why he was always the “dancer” in this show …. I was so shocked and confused when I heard him at the sectionals scene.
Well this episode wasn’t that bad. Maybe beacause of Sam’s abs… but anyways, I agree, that scene about Tina and Mike’s dad was a little obvious and dad’s reaction was too. Then I can’t believe New Directions won sectionals. Besides, why did hey sing like 100 songs? The ohter groups just sang only 1. That was weird. Even with 3 songs the Troubletones’ performance was better.
Im sorry but these glee posts are really bad….i LOVE Glee and your comments are totally trashing it. I usually love AND even agree with your opinions towards stuff, but NOT Glee. So, when it comes to Glee, PLEASE keep your comments to yourself and just tell me what happened on the show. (drama included)
THANKS!

i like the new directions and all but the troubletones were waaay better… and finn is the most annoying person this season he keeps making enemies and then says something nice 2 become friends again…. mayb he’s the bipolar one and not quinn
most movies some of the things that happen would never happen in real life…. it really worked still loved it
