10 Romantic Movie Moments (And How to Make Them Happen IRL!)

by: on | in Movies | 16 Comments

We’ve all been totally jealous that we’re not the ones starring in those ridiculously romantic movies that always make us swoon. Admit it. And so, since our lives aren’t scripted and rain doesn’t just start falling at the snap of a director’s fingers for that perfect kissing scene in real life, it’s time to take matter into our own hands. Here are our 10 fave romantic movie moments — plus how to get them yourself! You’re welcome…

Remember when Selena Gomez‘s character got her dance on with Drew Seeley‘s in Another Cinderella Story? Yeah, it’s hard to forget. Plan a dance lesson date and let your guy show you the moves you never knew he had.

There are just too many romantic moments to be had between Bella and Edward in all the Twilight flicks. But our fave? Go on a walk to a gorg, grassy meadow for a picnic and lay around in the sun together afterwards. One luxury that Bella didn’t have, though? You won’t have to worry about your boyf glistening in the sun.

Beaches are always romantic — especially when Liam Hemsworth is involved! Have a Ronnie and Will moment in The Last Song by putting on your cutest swimsuit a la Miley Cyrus and inviting your crush along for a day at the beach. (And don’t forget to slather each other up in sunscreen! Ya know, because you don’t want to get burnt.)

Way before Hilary Duff was prego, she was having the craziest time of her life in Rome in The Lizzie McGuire Movie.  You don’t need to hop on a plane and go across the globe, but you and your boy can grab a map and find somewhere exciting to go in your area for a new adventure. Moped is a plus.

Yep, it’s a classic — this list wouldn’t be complete without including Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams famous makeout sesh in the rain duing The Notebook. The next time a downpour is in the forecast, drag your boy outside for the best kiss ever (and some super hot frizzy hair afterwards).

If you haven’t seen The Vow yet, you need to go ASAP. For a romantic moment like no other, do what Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams’ characters did and take your BF back to the place you first met. But if you met on Facebook? Sorry. You’re out of luck.

Shane West and Mandy Moore‘s love in A Walk to Remember was ridic — Landon decides to help Jamie complete her bucket list (before, ya know, she dies). Make a list of things you and your boy have always wanted to do, and do them — fake butterfly tat and all.

Woodchuck Todd, played by Penn Badgley, surprises Olive aka Emma Stone at the end of Easy A by reenacting a corny scene from an 80′s movie and showing up outside of her window to blast music from the speakers he’s holding… all while standing on top of a lawnmower. Maybe skip the music part, but a joy ride on a riding lawnmower with a cute guy doesn’t sound too bad — especially if he looks anything like P.Badge.

In 13 Going on 30, Jenna aka Jennifer Garner and and Matt, played by Mark Ruffalo, pick up their favorite candy (Razzles!) and head to a playground to see who can jump the farthest off of the swings… and then pretty much land on top of each other. (How convenient!) There’s nothing cuter than being able to unleash your inner child and be goofy with someone you like.

Justin Timberlake‘s Dylan apologizes to Mila Kunis‘ Jamie with a flash mob featuring their fave song in Friends with Benefits. A flash mob might be a little over the top, but making your crush a CD of songs that remind you of him would be totes acceptable (and not at all creepy).
