When we listen to One Direction, we’re prone to dancing like crazy to their super-catchy jams. It’s so hard not to, you guys! But while we love rocking out to “One Thing” in our bedrooms, we also want some 1D when we’re feeling a bit more chill and introspective. If you’re similarly obsessed (or even if you — gasp! — don’t know that much about this British boy band or their album, Up All Night), here are ten stripped-down, acoustic covers of some of our fave songs, all for your listening enjoyment. Swoon, much?
Boyce Avenue Covers “What Makes You Beautiful”
There’s just something so… sexy about this cover. It might have less of the musical bells and whistles than the original, but it makes up for it in level of intensity!
Jordan Jansen Covers “One Thing”
This kid has swooshy hair that makes him look like a mini Justin Bieber, plus a pretty sick voice and playfully adorable vibe like The Biebs.
The Make Believe Covers “What Makes You Beautiful”
With their Cali style, these two boys don’t look much like the British boys of One Direction, but their surfer acoustic edge breathes new life into this song.
Skylar Dayne Covers “One Thing”
You’ve got to love the touch of Skylar’s raspy voice in this version of the normally super-poppy single!
Langdon Bryce Covers “Na Na Na”
Um, we’re so down for the sweet serenading of his soft voice–it’s a departure from the original, but we love it.
Sam Woods Covers “Gotta Be You”
Here’s another cover that’s perfect as a lullaby. Please, sing us to sleep!
Freak Morice Covers “One Thing”
With this band of siblings, they’re definitely drawing on the energy of One Direction. Simple, but still kinda danceable, ya know?
Jack William Gregory Covers “I Want”
It’s the accented twang of his singing voice that makes us want to hear this “I Want” cover over and over again.
Tim Halperin and Hayley Orrantia Cover “What Makes You Beautiful
The American Idol and X Factor alums combine with this charming duet. So much angst!
Maddi Seward Covers “Gotta Be You”
There’s a little bit of soulful sass in this version of “Gotta Be You,” but sometimes you just gotta belt it out!
Are you obsessed with One Direction? What’s your fave song? Do you like these acoustic versions as much as the originals? Tell us in the comments!
