We don’t know about you, but the release of Justin Bieber‘s new single, Boyfriend, pretty much owned our week. First there was the teaser, then the debut of the song, then the behind-the-scenes video of him in the studio. So imagine our delight when an interview The Biebs did for us about his new track landed in our inbox! In the vid, Justin goes into detail about where the inspiration for the rapped lines came from.
“When I was writing the raps for it and the verses, I was basically thinking about the things I would do if I was your boyfriend,” he says. Among other things, these seem to include “laying in the snow” and “chilln’ in by the fire while we eaten’ fondue.” So basically it sounds like a trip to Switzerland is in the works for Sel.
“Those are the things I would do if I was your boyfriend,” he continues. “So maybe you should just listen to the song and maybe one day… me and you can be together.”
For all you Beliebers out there, we’re pretty sure Justin was talking only about you. You might as well start signing your name Mrs. Justin Bieber now. What’s that? You already do that? Awkward.
