Not everything you hear about One Direction will always be good news. Especially when it comes to the most recent 1D events…

First, let’s discuss the impending lawsuit against the boy band by an American troupe of the same moniker — we’ll refer to them as One Direction (US). Apparently, they’re suing One Direction (UK) for $1 million after “stealing” their name because the US guys filed a trademark application before the British group. However, their plan seems to have backfired since they’re now receiving death threats from 1D (UK) fans. Directioners used words such as “chase” and “kill” in their hate mail addressed to the USA-born fivesome. The band insists that they have “huge respect” for the Brit boys, but allege that their own music is better.
But they’re not the only ones receiving flack. According to MTV UK,
“Nasty One Direction fans have bullied an Australian girl [named Anna Crotti] into cancelling a date with Zayn Malik after sending her a torrent of abuse.”
She admitted that random girls — and mothers! — were either writing abusive messages to her on Facebook or calling her at work. Since then, she says she did not go out with the dark-haired 1D member because she was scared for her life.

Singer Lily Halpern (pictured) has been the latest victim of these kinds of attacks. After an exclusive E! interview, where she hints some form of relationship with the band’s Harry Styles, she’s now on the verge of the same fate as One Direction (US) and Anna Crotti. Though no direct death threats have been made (yet), she was a trending topic on Twitter just yesterday with comments such as ”Caroline Flack [Harry's ex] can come back, we all forgive her. This Lily bitch needs to leave.” being written against her.
This isn’t the first time fandom was taken too far. After receiving a bunch of death threats from Justin Bieber fans (AKA Beliebers), Selena Gomez opened up about how the hateful words made her feel. Whether fanatics meant them or not!

I love one direction no matter what, Im going to stick by them no matter what they go through or say I’m a fan that loves them for them not because who they are but who they are inside and what a great person they are on the outside,they mean something to me and that matters alot These guys are Cute Funny Amazing and have great sense of humor, don’t take that away from them cause of all this I love them to bits and peices and all I’m asking is please don’t do this to really great people.

I personally think that if you a real and true fan you wouldn’t hate you should be happy that your idol is happy and all this death threats do is hurt people and they may also hurt your idol because now Zayn won’t be able to meet this fan. If it was you you in the same position you would want to meet Zayn and having to cancel would be horrible

i agree there is no need to hate i love all of them to death but come on its not like there are going to magically fall in love with you in fact they will probably end up hating you if you keep threatening there gfs/dates seriously get a life and stop hating on these poor girls!!
Honestly, the only reason i know about the One Direction (US) is b/c i was looking up One Direction (UK). The US 1D isn’t necessarily my style of music, but i do absolutely LOVE 1D UK
as far as the threats and stuff, people just really need to calm down. Just b/c they’re famous, doesn’t mean the boys don’t have their own personal lives too. They have the right to date whoever they want, and the girls they chose shouldn’t feel like their lives are in danger b/c so many people apparently don’t know how to handle their jealousy.
This is ridiculous. If you were a true fan you would support 1D and their choices. Think about it this way, no matter how much hate you send to these people, the guys are never going to appear on your doorstep asking for a date with you! It’s not like it’s going to help you out and it’s terrible to put someone else down like that. If you don’t want death threats sent to you via the internet, then don’t send it yourself. That’s the Golden Rule people. As for 1D (US) You shouldn’t put them down either because they work hard to make music too. In all honesty, they have every right to say what they have. It’s not like it isn’t true. Though it’s not like they couldn’t coexist peacefully. To be honest, when 1D (UK) first came out in the US, I searched on iTunes and found both bands. I bought both cds and enjoy BOTH bands music. All I’m saying is that by sending out the hate, it doesn’t show that you’re the biggest fan or that you like them the most, it just shows the uglier side of you. Do you want the people you look up to seeing that?

I hate when people do these things because it shows how nasty people can be! I feel soo bad for those poor people that are being bullied and threatened by “Directioners.” I honestly can’t call them legitimate Directioners because I myself am one and the people that send these nasty, awful threats give us a bad name. The same thing goes to Beliebers. I know some amazing girls that are Beliebers and would never do such things but these girls have taken it way to far. And as for their mothers… Shame on you! Grown women should be more intelligent and should try to convince their children that bullying is the problem and not the solution. They are simply jealous that these girls have met, dated, or are good friends with One Direction. Yes, wouldn’t it be lovely if one of the guys dated a fan? One of us. Well, Anna and Lily and Caroline (Flack) are fans of One Direction and should be left alone. The same thing goes for any friend (male or female) of any big name in the industry. They might be huge and famous, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t people with feelings. Though I must say, the horrible so-called “fans” that send these threats might just be non-human. How would you like it if someone told you they were going to kill you? Really, think before you send such horrible things. I am honestly ashamed that there are people like this in the world.

this is insane. why can’t people just let everyone live their own lives? if that girl is harry styles’ girlfriend, it has NOTHING to do with those nasty directioners. they have no right to comment on it, let alone make death threats. the internet makes it easy for people to say and do things like this. it is SO wrong.

i love one direction sooo much but we need to chill out. the boys need a life too and its not like the can have 3 million girlfriends.
I don’t understand. these girls and mothers have serious issues and should probably be put in a mental home. seriously. get over yourself. if they do this to people who don’t even know them, I couldn’t imagine what these girls and mothers do to people they do know. they’re ignorant.
I’m a big fan of One Direction. But, that doesn’t give me the right, nor does it give anyone else the right, to threaten to kill – or whatever it may be – other girls that go out with one of the 1D guys. We’re their fans, not their mothers, thus we cannot decide for them. They are their own person and they can decide for themselves. It’s just wrong to threaten someone because they are going out with Zayn or Harry or any of the guys for the matter. We are supposed to be their fans. We are supposed to support them with their choices. If we can’t even support the people they like, what kinds of fans are we? We may their fans, but that doesn’t give us the right to control their lives. Much less threaten the people they want involved in their life.
The people that are threatening to take others’ lives because of their involvement with one of the 1D member, think about what you are posting on the internet or what you say. It’s never, never okay to threaten to “kill” anyone. That’s serious and you can’t just throw out phrases like that. You guys don’t know what lives you could possibly ruin.
Lastly, Niall, Zayn, Liam, Louis, and Harry.. Their decisions are THEIR decisions. Get over it.

okay…so im a huge fan of one directon and those people sending death threats and things need to give the band members space because its not there business and not there life so one direction can do what they want and people need to leave them alone
I think if your a real Directioner, then you would be happy with their relationships, defend them the right way, and not be nasty to anyone that dosent like them. Real fans would do these things, but obvs the people who are sending death threats to Lily arent real fans. And NEITHER are the ones sending threats to the US 1D. Its not their fault they have the same name!
I think people need to back off of these girls. I feel bad for them.
