Fabulous

Demi Lovato has been really open with the media lately about her past — her body image issues especially — but in a new interview with British mag, Fabulous, we’re learning even more about Demi — like about just how intense her experience was with drugs and alcohol.

Demi told the mag: “Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs. They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there. They were basically kissing my ass. I thought they were my friends. I thought I was having fun.”

But Demi even alluded to doing some drugs herself, not having been under the influence of other people: “I was depressed. I would come off stage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I’d come crashing down and would try to find a way to recreate that feeling, to stay ‘up’.”

Of course Demi is better now and is on her road to recovery, but she wants her fans to know she’s still not 100 percent, saying, “I’m not saying I’m perfect, or fixed, but I am learning to love and accept myself. My outlook is more positive and I am happy.”

And we bet the outlook on her love life is more positive, too! Even though the Demster claims that now she’s “not dating at all,” she “loves having a boyfriend.” Hm…who do you think Demi should date next?!

And what do you think of Demi being so open about her issues? Do you respect her more for it?

Demi Lovato is the BEST ROLE MODEL. You will ever find in this world, because she is the that one person that spoke up about her problem she didn’t want that life anymore. She has saved millions of people’s lives. If it wasn’t for her no one would have spoken out to their parents. If it wasn’t for her my friend would have killed her self. I ❤DEMI LOVATO!!!!!

I think it’s funny how when Demi does drugs, everyone pities her and says it wasnt her fault, and then when Miley gets caught doing drugs, she’s blasted in the media. How can we have such positive feelings towards one person and such negative feelings towards another, when they both do the same things?

i actually never thought about that. but its probably because demi wanted help and knew she needed it

Well i mean demi had an disorder , a problem . she knew she needed help and she trusted her “so called” friends for help and she thought it was working , thats all she needed to relief herself from her depression . its not like she wanted to do it .

Demi did drugs when she was having other issues going on and she did drugs as a way to try to make herself happy. She regrets all of that now and doesn’t do drugs anymore. People don’t pity her and say it wasn’t her fault. She is owning up to her mistakes and trying to be a role model for young girls and people respect that. Miley smokes weed and salvia for fun, because she wants to and hasn’t apologized for making her mistakes public. Miley hasn’t tried to pretend like it was about what it was. Honestly, I don’t care if Miley smokes. That’s her business. But you can’t pretend like the Miley and Demi situations were the same.

Demi is an inspiration to every one. I an so proud of her for coming out with what she went through because by doing this she is helping millions of people. Since coming out of treatment she has help girls, boys, women and men fight it and get help. She is truly amazing. Yeah she has made mistakes but she’s not the only one to have make mistake and trusted people who she thought were here friends but they were faking. I personally will look up to her forever and I know thousands of people will too. I support her and she has come so far the past couple of months.

Demi is seriously the biggest role model and inspiration I have. I’m currently struggling with depression and self-harm (I don’t cut though, I use other forms) and Demi has really been helping me through a lot of this. I’m not even a huge fan of her music, I just like a few of her songs, but she’s really inspired me in my struggle. she’s shown me that I’m not alone in this, and that I can overcome my problems. She also taught me to get help before things get out of hand, which I have now done thanks to her. Last night I asked my mom if she could find a therapist or someone I could talk to about my problems. I’m fighting through all the pain thanks to Demi Lovato. She has prevented me from suicide. God bless her, I hope to meet her someday and thank her for everything.

Because she saved my life <3

Demi is one of the most inspiring people in the media these days. Honestly, we shouldn’t have the right to go all hating on her. I mean like, everyone makes mistakes, we’re only human. So yeah. There’s my short rant.
I think it’s cool how she’s being open about it, I can tell that talking about it has helped her a lot :D

    Shawn says:

Demi you have done so much in your life even though some of it was wrong and mistakes but that’s just a part of life we all make mistakes. It’s just those who don’t learn from there mistakes are the ones that are bad role models. Demi we know you are still fighting with yourself each and everyday and you know you have your real friends and family and your frans standing behind you to catch you when you don’t feel strong enough to go on without harming yourself.
Demi you are still growing and learning thing’s in life and it will get easier as time goes on but some part of your past will always be there to challenge you and put a bump in your road. I know that you know what to do when those bumps come up in your life and you just need to keep going on and going around those bumps and keep moving forward. All your family friends and frans are here for you. If your wondering what frans means it’s friends and fans put together. Take care Demi and keep on being awesome.

    Jazmine says:

Honestly I thought she was awesome such a roll model until she did start with the drugs and alcohol though I’m just happy she is trying to get out of all the mess she made but I bet shell turn out good again

    • Teen.com
      Shawn says:

If you read the story it wasn’t Demi’s mess it was the promoters and people she thought were her friends that caused this mess in her life. She was young and thought it was kewl to do this stuff and act like a grown up. Know one in this world can say they didn’t do stupid thing’s when they were younger or even still doing those stupid thing’s. We all make mistakes in life and we grow from them mistakes.
Demi even when she was into that junk she still had so much respect for her fans and others. She just didn’t respect herself like she is starting to do now.

    Sam says:

I’m glad that Demi isn’t afraid to talk about these things in public. I’m glad she’s coming out in the open about these things.
