Sometimes a girl just needs a good old-fashioned couch cry, and we’re no different. We’ve compiled a list our favorite flicks that instantly start the waterworks no matter how many times we’ve seen them (and we don’t cry easily!). Thankfully, one of our top picks, The Vow, is now available on Blu-ray and DVD. We’re going to pick up a copy – and some tissues today!
The Vow
We can’t imagine anything more tear-inducing than surviving a car accident with the love of your life, only to have them think that you’re their doctor. That’s the scene that gets us the most. But also just as sad is not being able to remember that you’re married to one of the hottest guys on earth… Channing Tatum. Talk about devastating!
I Am Legend
So a zombie thriller might not one everyone’s list of tearjerker movies, but we can’t watch this movie without sobbing uncontrollably at the part where Will Smith’s character has to kill his dog Sam because she got bit by a zombie and is going to turn into a zombie dog. Now that we’re writing it we realize how silly that premise is. But regardless, we still cry a ton during this scene (that is, if we don’t fast-forward it)… even without the heightened sadness of Sam being his only companion left in the world. Oh gosh, where are the tissues…
The Notebook
Somewhat of the same premise as The Vow in the sense that Rachel McAdams is not able to remember that she is married to a hot guy. Well, we’re assuming that Ryan Gosling will still be a hot senior citizen. Yes, we can see that. The part that gets us the most though is when her memory comes back to her for that fleeting moment. Old people are so sad
Bambi
Bambi’s mom… in the woods… we can’t. No. Nooooooooo!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2
Again, another nontraditional pick. But we can’t help but tear up at no less than three parts of this movie. The first being when Harry tells Hermione (even though she already knows) that he is a Horcrux and she offers to go with him into the forest. The second is when the three of them are holding hands on the bridge to Hogwarts together in the rubble of their school. And the third is when they are on platform 9 ¾ and the camera zooms in on the three of them as very convincing old people. The tears don’t start until Ginny is out of the frame because her old-person hair bugs us, but once it’s down to Ron, Hermione and Harry (and Ron Jr.) – the waterworks start flowing just thinking of the journey we’ve seen these characters take.
Don’t forget, The Vow is available on Blu-ray and DVD today!

Brokeback mountain makes you cry. Why isn´t it in this list!? I´ve never wept as much as when I saw that movie. Jesus.
Channing Tatum in all the Nicholas Sparks adaptations makes me cry….. he’s so amazing.
I totally agreewith Harry Potter, but don’t you think the scene in the great hall where you see Fred, Lupin, and Tonks is sadder?
its not ron jr – its hugo (i dont really like that name but if its harry potter related then i love it) but anyway its defo a tear jerker
I Am Legend and Bambi, yes!! When Mockingjay comes out, it will have to be added to the list.
