It’s been a really good few days for Katy Perry. In addition to performing her new single “Wide Awake” at the Billboard Music Awards as well as taking home a BBMA Spotlight Award, Katy just released a super awesome lyric video for the song in order to tide fans over until the official music video releases.
The new single, which was written exclusively for her upcoming 3-D movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” is a soft ballad that touches on the singer’s public divorce from comedian Russell Brand. Katy’s never been afraid to speak her mind, and she revealed to Ellen that the movie would not hide the times of trouble in her marriage. Some lyrics include:
“I’m wide awake. I was in the dark, I was falling hard with an open heart. How did I read the stars so wrong. I was dreaming for so long. I wish I knew then what I know now. I wouldn’t dive in, I wouldn’t bow down.” Ouch. Check out the video:
