Summit Entertainment made our day yesterday and released the first official poster for the upcoming The Perks of Being A Wallflower starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson. Based on the super popular Stephen Chbosky (who also wrote and directed the movie) book published in 1999, ‘Perks‘ deals with some hard-hitting topics including drug use, mental illness and suicide.
In the film, Logan plays Charlie, the title character wallflower, while Emma’s character, Sam, is slightly more extroverted (yeah, that’s a good way of putting it).
The bright green background is a definite nod to the book’s cover and we’re also definitely getting a very non-Hermione vibe from Emma — a good sign. The movie also stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd and Nicholas Braun (PROM). Fun fact: it’s been reported the film originally received an R-rating from the MPAA for drug use, however that has since been revised to PG-13.
Fans will be able to catch a first look at the movie during tonight’s MTV Movie Awards before the movie hits select theaters on September 14, 2012. Fans can also join Logan, Chbosky and Ezra Miller, who plays Patrick in the movie, during a The Perks Of Being A Wallflower live chat and trailer viewing party this Sunday, 8:30 PM PT/11:30 PM on Facebook.
