Obviously MTV handed out golden popcorns to all of the winners last night at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards – and, not shockingly, The Hunger Games took home the most bling – but here at Teen.com, we decided that the annual awards show needs, well, its own awards show. That said, here are our winners for the MTV Movie Awards Awards, including most WTF Moment, Best Presenters and more!
Biggest Upset: Shailene Woodley
Don’t get us wrong; Shailene Woodley was phenomenal in her role as Alex King in The Descendants and totally deserved this win and her Golden Globe nomination. We’re just surprised that in a fan-voted competition, she beat out Liam Hemsworth for his role as Gale for Best Breakthrough Performance. Jen won. Josh won. Liam lost. Score one for Team Peeta.
Most Awkward Speech: Kristen Stewart
Was there even a question about this one? Kristen Stewart was the definition of “awkward” last night, as expected, as she accepted the award for Best Kiss (for the fourth year in a row). Winners often reenact their kisses, but since her on-and-off-screen BF Rob Pattinson couldn’t be there to accept the award with her, she instead made out with… herself? It was painful to watch, but we heart KStew nonetheless.
Best One-liner: Jennifer Lawrence
After K-Stew and her Snow White and the Huntsman hottie co-star Chris Hemsworth announced that Jennifer Lawrence won Best Female Performance for Katniss in The Hunger Games, we were bummed to find out that she wouldn’t be there to accept her award because she was shooting a movie in Prague. No worries though, because Jen sent in a gem of an acceptance video. After the normal ‘Thanks to the cast and crew,’ Jen looked at her Golden Popcorn trophy and said, “I can’t eat this!” Could she be any more flawless? Kristen, take notes from Jen.
Best Presenters: The Magic Mike cast
What’s hotter than Channing Tatum? Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey. What’s hotter than Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey? Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello (who, BTW, was wearing a very ab-tastic firefighter uniform). The only thing that could have possibly made their presentation of the Best On-Screen Transformation award to Elizabeth Banks any better would have been to have their just-as-hot Magic Mike co-star Alex Pettyfer on stage with them… without a shirt.
Best LOL Moment: The video tribute to Emma Stone
To pay tribute to the first-ever Trailblazer Award winner Emma Stone, some of her famous friends and co-stars, including Jim Carrey, Anna Faris and Steve Carell, put together a video montage to tell us why they love her. Then they (jokingly, we hope) dished about how they can’t stand her. Her Friends With Benefits co-star Mila Kunis confessed, “ I’ve been hospitalized several times for Emma Stone-related injuries.” We know Emma’s such a sweetheart in RL, which made it even more hilarious.
Biggest WTF Moment: Russell Brand joking about his short-lived marriage to Katy Perry
When Russell Brand hosted his first MTV awards a few years ago, he made countless jokes about The JoBros and their purity rings and everything else inapprops. This year was no different; he poked fun at his recent divorce more than once. The former Mr. Katy Perry joked, “The last time I did an MTV awards show, I did end up marrying someone that was there. So tonight I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for my next wife.” Not too classy, Russell. Too bad Rusty wasn’t nominated for Best On-Screen Dirtbag (the award went to Jennifer Aniston instead), ’cause he would’ve been a shoo-in.
What was your favorite part of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards? Any awesome moments we missed?

What I Would Have Given These Awards To:
Biggest Upset – Breaking Dawn winning movie of the year (RPattz will probably agree)
Most Awkward Speech – Kristen Stewart (I have to agree with you there)
Best One Liner – Jennifer Lawrence (Agreed)
Best Presenters – Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and that other guy (TBH I didn’t think any of the presenters were great but who doesn’t love E.W. and L.L?)
Best LOL Moment – Jim Carrey Cameo in Emma Stone video (The rest of the vid was great too but his was the BEST, “This is what our child would have looked like.” LOL!)
actually the biggest upset was twilight winning movie of the year and best kiss and not THG. but whatever, THG will still be the best movie in my book. and also I love Jennifer she’s just so wonderful <3!
RUSSELL BRAND CAN GO SCREW HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!!
Just for the record, the Best Breakthrough Performance Award was NOT fan-voted!
I just can’t help feeling that was unfair that The Hunger Games doesn’t win the movie of the year and the best kiss. They deserved more than The Twilight Saga and what the fu** KStew was doing? At least … Happy for JHuntch, he owned the night!
I couldn’t agree with you more! HG FTW!
Jennifer Lawrence is just amazing. ♥
