Just like their pop-music predecessors Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, the boys of One Direction are potentially set to star in their very own 3D movie. According to a British newspaper, The Sun, the movie will either be a scripted comedy or a concert documentary. Yes, you heard us right. In the near future you could be watching Harry, Louis, Zayn, Niall and Liam on the big screen with technology so advanced that you’ll basically be touching them. Basically.
Although it’s not 100% confirmed, sources say they’re in the early stages of planning and the movie is rumored to have a release date of November 8, 2013. Ugh, total bummer, we know. After seeing the success of The Biebs’ Never Say Never 3D concert film (which out-sold Michael Jackson‘s This is It BTW), a source tells The Sun, “US film experts are speculating that the 1D film would be similar to Justin’s movie and will be a big money-spinner for the boys.” Well, with two completely sold out tours, we wouldn’t doubt that.
So, how big is big when it comes to 3D movie standards? The same source reports that each band member could make upwards of $15 million for participating in the film. That’s a grand-total of $75 million, but hey, who’s counting? We’re just excited to see the movie!
What are you hoping to see in 1D’s 3D movie? Would you prefer a comedy or concert film? Do you think that 1D will beat out JB at the box office?
