We all know that Lucy Hale is pretty much perfect as Aria on Pretty Little Liars, but what you might not be aware of is the fact that Lucy can actually sing — and her new record deal with Hollywood Records proves it.  According to Ken Bunt, Executive Vice President of Disney Music Group:

“Lucy’s immense talent and passion for music make her a great fit for the label. We’re very excited to be working with her.”

While Lucy is most known for being an actress, back in 2003 she appeard on American Juniors singing Diana Ross’ “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me.” Oh yes, before she was introduced to Rosewood, she was giving the American Idols a run for their money!

More recently, Luce dabbled in singing yet again in both A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song and Pretty Little Liars, leaving everyone wanting more. She’s clearly thrilled to be able to move forward with her singing career, adding:

“I’m overjoyed and honored to become a member of the Hollywood Records family.  I’ve admired the careers they’ve made and can’t wait to see how my musical path is paved out. I’d just like to thank Ken Bunt and everyone involved for giving me the chance to show a whole different side of myself, which is a huge passion for music.”

Lucy joins Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus and more at HWR.  She is expected to begin recording later in the year, and her album should be out sometime in 2013.  Ugh, long time to wait, we know, but we’re sure it’ll be worth it.

Do you think it’s good that Lucy is getting into music? Or should she stick to acting? What other PLL castmates should do the music thing?
