Katy Perry Releases “Wide Awake” Video Teaser

by: on | in Entertainment News | No Comments

Katy Perry may have released her sophomore album Teenage Dream almost two years ago, but KP is still dropping singles from the record-breaking CD. You may recall that “Part of Me” and her latest single “Wide Awake” are from the album’s deluxe re-release Teenage Dream: The Complete Collection, and now, Katy’s released a teaser trailer for “Wide Awake”, which will be the eighth and final single/video from Teenage Dream.

In the teaser, we see a little girl who looks like a younger version of Katy flipping through a story book. Each chapter of the book represents the previous videos from Teenage Dream, ending with “The Final Chapter,” which represents “Wide Awake”.  As the girl flips through the book, we get glimpses of the storybook-themed video, including Katy eating a poisonous strawberry, a cat-shaped hedge that comes alive and a charming prince, who crosses his fingers behind his back, which usually symbolizes a broken promise (perhaps a nod to Katy’s ex, Russell Brand?).

The full video for “Wide Awake” will be released next Tuesday, June 19, but here’s the snippet:

And in addition to the “Wide Awake” video, Katy also has her own 3D movie, Part of Me, coming out on July 4 weekend. And to get fans involved, she’s allowing the Katycats to choose the movie’s official poster. Check out the final two contenders below, and vote by tweeting Katy your favorite option at #KP3Dtwitter1 or #KP3Dtwitter2, respectively:
