MuchMusic Video Awards winner for Favorite International Artist or Group Katy Perry was supposed to release her video for “Wide Awake” — the eighth and final (wah!) single from Teenage Dream – tomorrow on MTV. But lucky for us, the video has leaked online a day early, allowing all Katy Cats to start their weeks off in a the best way poss.
The video starts with Katy wrapping up her first Teenage Dream video, “California Gurls,” which was the start of the crazy journey she’s been on since the summer of 2010. She then enters a fairy tale world, and throughout the video, we see Katy making her way through a massive maze, getting wheeled down a hospital corridor, meeting creepy half-bull/half-human creatures, being rescued by the little girl version of herself, escaping to an enchanted garden… and punching out a handsome prince. It all ends with her getting ready to perform “Teenage Dream” on her California Dreams World Tour (which earned almost $60 million!).
