It’s Jedwardmania here at Teen! We can’t get enough of these Irish twins who, honestly, we kinda just discovered last week. We’re loving their cute Irish brogues, their crazy hair (how does it do that??), their up-beat music… and they kind of look like two Edward Cullens, no? In honor of the release of Jedward‘s third studio album Young Love (out June 26 here in the US!), we decided to dig up some facts about the twins that new followers of the duo may not know. You are very welcome, young lads.

1. Their full names are John Paul Henry Daniel Richard Grimes and Edward Peter Anthony Kevin Patrick Grimes. That’s a mouthful! Oh, and John is ten minutes older than his bro, Edward.

2. When the twins auditioned for The X Factor in 2009, Simon Cowell called them “not very good and incredibly annoying.” Eek.
3. Despite Cowell’s remarks, X Factor judge Louis Walsh took them under his wing and became their manager. So far they have released two albums (Planet Jedward and Victory) that have gone double platinum in Ireland.

4. In honor of the 2012 Summer Olympics (the opening ceremony is Friday July 27, 2012!), John and Edward ran in the torch relay from Cathal Brugha Street to the General Post Office on O’Connell Street in Ireland’s capital, Dublin!

5. The Olympics picked the perfect duo to run with the torch, because both John and Edward used to run around 40 miles a week with their track club.

6. Jedward are involved with tons of charity work. They’ve donated their time and talent to the ISPCC (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children), ChildLine, Sport Relief, Comic Relief, and Children In Need. In 2011, they became one of the highest rated charity ambassadors in Ireland.
7. The boys have five dogs — Lassie, Maxi, Trixie, DJ, and Oscar.

8. Both boys are beyond obsessed with Britney Spears! Brit’s …Baby One More Time was the first album they ever bought. Here they are on stage with Ms. Spears during her Femme Fatale Tour!
9. Edward seriously injured his leg on stage while performing at a beach festival in England, but continued on with the show anyway! It wasn’t broken, but he ended up tearing a few ligaments in his left knee and need corrective surgery to fix it.
10. John and Edward became very good friends with their Celebrity Big Brother housemate, Tara Reid.

You did a great job in researching and pointing out how versatile John and Edward actually are, without even mentioning their lot of successful TV shows in Ireland and the UK – two of them are due to appear in their 2nd series later this year. Three albums, four own TV shows so far, numerous TV specials, representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest twice (!), meeting Barack Obama, carrying the Olympic torch and whatnot – at the mere age of 20 these guys have achieved more than many other artists may achieve throughout their entire career.

I’m a BIG fan of Jedward!! they are so unique and so different from other famous people so I really like them! even though I’ve never met them cause I live in Denmark and they sadly haven’t bin in Denmark yet.
And of cause I will by their album Young Love I CAN’T WAIT =:) =:)
And I think it would be really cool if they had susses in USA … because if they become a massive hit in USA I hope people from Denmark find out how cool they are and will become a fan of them cause Denmark need more Jedward fans!!!
They have also met and performed for President Barack Obama while he was on his trip to Ireland last year
