So as this week’s competition, we’re pitting One Direction‘s version (led by Niall Horan, BTW) of the song against Kendall Schmidt from Big Time Rush‘s. But ladies and gents, please don’t use this as a Boy Band battle — we’ve already done that — but instead, put your focus on the music. Whose Ed cover is better? Whose voice makes you swoon even more? We’ve got videos of both versions below to help ya cast your vote!

I am definitely voting for Kendall on this one. I’m not just voting for Kendall because I’m a Rusher and not a directioner (I actually have respect for Niall) but becuase he put all of his energy and all into this cover. He spent many covers trying to film this cover and make it absolutely perfect. You can obviously tell that Kendall really gets into the song when he sings. Kendall’s voice is perfect for this song as well. Only he can hit the high notes perfectly. And to Kate Horan’s comment: Listen, I went to see Big Time Rush VIP in Radio City and the show sold out in 2 seocnds before any of us even knew One Direction was even going to be opening up for them. And let me tell you, NO ONE left after One Direction played. Secondly, Big Time Rush has achived many things as their 3 years as a band. Big Time Rush isn’t like the normal boy band that sings about girls 24/7. Mst of their songs come from personal experiences and from their heart. They make people try to feel good about themselves so they don’t have to go through the torture that they went through…torture that YOU’RE putting upon them. Don’t judge someone because they’re not in the fanbase you like because you never got to know them at all. I bet you never even listened to Kendall’s cover becuase I’m positive that if you did, you’d instantly fall in love with his angelic voice.

I decided to choose Kendieboo because although Niall sounds okay, but Kendall is better. He sang the whole song and he dedicated his all into the song. I can feel his aura only through the song. I’m a Rusher and Directioner too (Rusher Elevating higher than Directioner though), and I feel Kendall is the best among the best <3

Niall Horan all the way! Im a HUGE DIRECTIONER and support 1D for everything and anything! Besides they might be friends but Niall is sure gonna win this poll! Think about all the achievements 1D has done in a year and BTR hasn’t done any of them! BTR has been together for how long now? 5 years? and they suck!!! They also needed 1D to help them sell tickets, then why would they want them to come on tour with them? And everyone knows that after 1D sang their 5 songs all the fans left and BTR had like no people watching their concert! Enough said Niall Horan in going to win! DIRECTIONER ALL THE WAY SINCE X FACTOR TILL ETERNITY!

Big Time Rush has had so many accomplishments this year! And all four of them are amazing singers. They stared in their own movie, their about to go on a summer tour after they just finished season 3 of big time rush. They went on an Elevate tour and in the beginning of this year were in the jingle balls. They just released a new single Windows Down who’s music video on iTunes topped justin biebers boyfriend. They won best band at the KCAs against three other well known and liked bands. So don’t say that about Big Time Rush when you don’t even know what they did. Im not a directioner.. but i don’t trash one direction.
Both bands have accomplished a lot, get your facts straight. Big Time Rush didn’t need one direction’s help to sell their tickets, and they had plenty of people watching even after the rude directioners left. They don’t suck. You don’t know what all Big Time Rush has accomplished, so don’t mention that at all.
If you say Directioners are using an excuse because of the crowd, and that apparently he has an unfair advantage because the rest of the boys sing as well, let me say this.
Kendall is doing a proper cover, whereas Niall was singing at a concert when he wasn’t prepared.
I wish they had waited until Niall had made a proper cover of the song before starting a cover battle, because both have advantages and disadvantages here.
I thought both covers were good, I enjoyed them both. But this poll will mainly be biased opinions.
I love both Kendall and Niall. They are both my “boyfriend”. But I gotta go with Kendall’s because is was put together well and he played the guitar and put more effort into it. Naill’s would have been just as good if I could have actually heard better. I LOVE Niall!!! But Kendall’s my boy. And I like his cover better simple because it just is. Rusher FTW. I’m not a Directioner but Im quite the fan and I love Niall. He’s so cute with a great voice. Ok I’m rambling.

Both are very cute boys but come on! of course Kendall’s cover is the best ….I respect Directioners and I like One Direction but seriously how you can say the Niall’s cover is better than Kendall; both sang the song very well but Niall didn’t even sang the full song instead Kendall sang all the song, he played the song in his guitar and he really deserves to be recognized for it, and even this poll is ridiculous because of course Kendall’s cover is the best.

I think cause Niall is from the UK like Ed they have similar sounds and thus people would claim his version to better. Though Kendall sounds different, it sounds almost orginal and not just a copy because, and let’s not forget, Kendall put his talented fingers and voice into the mix. 1D helped Niall along too. That almost unfair advantage cause its like comparing 1 guy verses a band…unfair advantage or what?!? Anywho, may the best win

It says a lot when Directioners have to excuse why Niall sounded so bad… Whether we couldn’t hear him and fans were screaming because it was filmed on a bad quality camera, he still sounded awful
K, I get some people are playign favourites but some Rushers are being sore losers. I picked Niall, yes because I do not like Big Time Rush whatsoever, and because I love One Direction. However, I also pick Niall simply because I actually liked his cover better. I do not like Kendall’s voice. I like Niall’s and he’s not even my favourite. I seriously love them both so much. They are such great singers, but I’m gonna have to go with my Kindle. Niall’s was great and all but Kendall has this thing about him that no matter what he sings I can’t stop listening. Nialler I love you and all but I gotta go with Kendall on this one.

The only reason niall would win is because there are selfish directioners that just want him to win because he is in 1D. The other guys helped niall sing it and he didnt even do the full song.
