Earlier this month, we reported that British (and Irish) boy band One Direction was hard at work on their second album. Despite releasing their first album Up All Night just seven months ago in the UK and only three months ago in the United States, it was revealed that they would be coming out with a new single in November and that the new album would be in stores by Christmas.
Now, Directioners have something to get even more excited about; the guys, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan, plan to finish the record by the end of this summer and release a single before November. Niall just dished to MTV, “Obviously we’ve got to make a decision for a single soon, ’cause we have to get a single out towards September, I suppose.”
The lads of 1D haven’t had much down time during their heavy touring schedule, but after a brief break, they went straight back to work.
“When we came back from [touring in] Australia, we had a couple weeks off, and then we went straight into the studio to get cracking on the next album,” Niall said. “We wrote an absolutely cracking song that we’re all kind of very excited about. And then last week, we were in LA and we had five days off the tour to record in LA, so we recorded more there.”
Rumors have been flying around that the first single off of the still-unnamed record would be a track called “Heartbreaker”, but Niall set the record straight. “It’s not true at all. We actually don’t even have a song called ‘Heartbreaker.’ That’s not gonna happen,” he dished. Ok then.
Are you directioners excited that the new music is coming even sooner than we originally thought? Are you seeing 1D on tour this summer?
