Now that it’s officially July, we have tons of things to be excited about — Katy Perry’s 3D movie, Kourtney Kardashian’s new baby and tons more. But, like many others, we’re probably the most excited to see our favorite stars dress up and win surfboards at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards. We’ve been keeping you updated with the nominees and performers, so we’re super pumped to hear that Demi Lovato is the confirmed host of this year’s award show.
Demi, who is 19 years old, will be the second youngest person to ever host the TCAs, right behind fellow Disney star, Miley Cyrus. With Dem’s stardom about to blow up even more thanks to her gig as one of this season’s X Factor judges, we’re sure that the award show would be happy to have her.
FOX also confirmed that Carly Rae Jepsen has been added to the list of this year’s performers. She will sing her super-smash, “Call Me Maybe” at the show, and fans aren’t the only ones who are thrilled about this announcement — Carly herself gushed about the opportunity to perform at the TCAs.
“It’s been a dream of mine to attend the Teen Choice Awards for years. To perform and be nominated is such an honor. I’m looking forward to sharing this amazing night with the fans and friends who got me there!”
And literally just seconds ago, E’s celeb-goss expert Mark Malkin tweeted another very exciting performance announcement — “Justin Bieber will perform at the Teen Choice Awards july 22.” YES!! We wonder which song from Believe he’ll sing.

Ugh. Can’t we get over the Demi hype already? Yes, she’s a huge inspiration, and I admire her for making her struggle public, but, really, haven’t we had enough of her? Girl can’t sing to save her life and she doesn’t have much of an on-stage personality. I’d like to see someone more universally liked. Who? I’m not fully sure, but Kaley Cuoco was perfect for last year’s TCAs, and I’d like to see another TV star like her host (Lea Michele, Lucy Hale, Neil Patrick Harris, etc…).

c’mon dude she’s not just a huge inspiration, she’s super talented and she CAN sing, you need to check your ears ASAP!
You’re kidding, right? 1105! is right. She obviously has no training: her breathing technique is all wrong and she barely takes high notes all the way. Really, listening to her music makes me cringe, and I’d be horrified if she were the one to host the TCAs.
Demi Lovato? Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen? Eh. Whatever. If it weren’t for the fact that No Doubt is performing and that the cast of The Vampire Diaries (my favorite show) are nominated in several categories,I wouldn’t watch at all. But you know,good for the people who want to see them perform at the TCAs.
Same with me – if it wasn’t for the cast of Pretty Little Liars and all of their nominations, I’m not sure that I’d be watching.
