While Comic-Con is usually a time for fans to celebrate their favorite comics, movies, TV shows and more, Twilight fans at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego are mourning the loss of a fellow Twihard, a 53-year-old woman who died after being hit by a car outside the convention center Tuesday morning, Huffington Post reports. The unnamed woman was reportedly running across the street to get in line for the Twilight panel, which isn’t until Thursday, when she was hit by the car. She was taken to the hospital, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead.

“Apparently the pedestrian, as she went [along] the crosswalk, stumbled and fell and struck the vehicle as it passed by her,” San Diego Police Department Sergeant Ron Glass told a local San Diego news station.

San Diego Police spokesperson Lt. Andra Brown told Deadline, “The driver of the vehicle was a 67-year-old male who remained at the scene and was cooperative with police during their investigation.”

The woman’s name hasn’t officially been released, but Twilight fans at the convention have identified her as Gisela G. #RIPTwiFanG was trending on Twitter, and thousands expressed their sadness about the tragedy. Many asked for a moment of silence to remember Gisela during Thursday’s Twilight panel, and Lionsgate issued the following statement on Tuesday:

“Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year’s convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.”

Yuss, I have been to Comic-Con and it was amazing!!
I dislike Twilight in every way, but I send my best wishes to her family and hope she rests in peace. I am very saddened by this news.
Us Potterheads do have hearts you know.
I can’t help but thinking though how her so very sad death relates to Twilight. In the Twihard-memorable scene where Edward saves Bella from a carcrash. I wish someone was there for Gisela when the car came her way. (The only reason I know that detail is from my Twihard mum.)

    Rest in peace, Gisela! <3
