Celeb Battle: Whose One-Year-Old Single is Better, Demi Lovato’s or Selena Gomez’s?

by: on | in Celebrities | 83 Comments

demi-lovato-skyscraper-comparisonHave we ever done a Celeb Battle between Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez before? Probably, but the Deniall vs. Jelena one, for our purposes, does not count, you guys. Because this week’s celeb battle is totally different and is kickin’ it old school. Today is “Skyscraper Day,” marking the one year anniversary of Demi’s empowering hit, “Skyscraper,” so we thought we’d take this opportunity to have her battle it out with her BFF, Selena Gomez, whose “Love You Like a Love Song” also came out last summer. And since Demi Lovato is also hosting next week’s Teen Choice Awards and Selena has hosted quite a few events in her years, like the MuchMusic Awards 2011 and the VMA 2011 pre-show, there’s that to compare them on, too.

So for old times sake, listen to both Demi’s and Selena’s classic singles below, and then tell us who takes your vote for the better song. And if you wanna tell us in the comments who you think makes a better awards show host, you can do that too. Just sayin’.

Vote in the Battle of the Celeb Couples!

I LOVE Demi Lovato!!!!!!!!!!! Like she is my role model! She taught me to stay strong because she had a similar situation that I am in. :)

First of all the song selection here is a completely unfair comparison. “Love you like a love song” is probably Selena’s WORST hit, and I’ve felt that way since I first heard it. She’s got much better material that could have evened the playing field. And they put that up against one of Demi’s most personal and powerful songs? WHACK.

I will say Demi does have a stronger voice, but they are both good singers for the material they put out. Also, it SUCKS that they broke up as best friends but if you ask me Selena def made the better choice in a new one with Taylor Swift than Demi did with Miley Cyrus. :-(
