You already learned that the entire cast of Glee was returning for season 4, but at Comic-Con 2012 this past weekend, Lea MicheleCory MonteithJenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHaleNaya Rivera, Darren Criss and the show’s creators revealed details on the fourth season that no one saw coming. Let’s break it down by character:

Rachel’s starting over at NYADA with her new dance instructor — played by Kate Hudson! According to Executive Producer Brad Falchuk, “[Kate plays] a really fun character. It’s the difference between the Will version of teaching and more negative reinforcement.” Along with said ‘negative reinforcement,’ Rachel will have to face even more challenges without Mr. Schuester placing her ahead of the class. Lea says that her character will be put up against “1800 other Rachel Berrys.” Yikes!

As for the other NYADA hopeful, Kurt, he’ll be back in Lima. At least, for a little while. Executive Producer Ian Brennan says, “He’s the one person who’s sort of aimless and it’s a little heartbreaking, but he’s Kurt Hummel and Kurt Hummel lands on his feet.” Brad adds, “How long is Kurt going to stay away from his best friend? Not very long.” Oh, and what’s up with Klaine? Darren exclaims, “I think we all want to see them together for as long as possible. The inevitable pitfalls of a long-distance relationship produce a lot of conflict. I don’t know, I’m just an actor! The new format of the show is gonna shake everything up.”

Meanwhile, Rachel’s better half, Finn, is preparing for bootcamp. But that doesn’t necessarily mean things won’t work out for Finchel. Lea says, “I can’t do the show without working with [real-life boyfriend] Cory, so I’m sure that we’ll be together.”

Another character whose fate was left up in the air: Santana. Despite her dreams of moving to NYC, the sassy diva will unexpectedly be at the University of Louisville this fall. However, Lea mentions that her and Naya “have been campaigning for Rachel and Santana to be roommates in New York for a very long time.” So, we guess, all further Santana-in-New-York details are TBA.
