Well, isn’t she a cutie! The “she” here refers to Noelle Bean, who is referred to just by Bean by the peeps in the music industry. We decided to feature Bean as this week’s Nice to Meet You because she’s young, cute, talented — basically everything we look for in a new artist. Get to know the up-and-comer here (she’s crushing on both Hemsworth bros!) and be sure to download her single, “Cops and Robbers,” on iTunes, that totally reminds us of a mix between Adele and Amy Winehouse.
Tell us about your new single!
Noelle: My new single is called “Cops And Robbers.” It’s the first song I ever co-wrote for my first record! I just recently returned from Nashville where we shot the music video for the song and I’ll just tell you this: the original car, a 1934 Jaguar, from Bonnie and Clyde was used in this video It’s gonna be lots of fun to release.
Describe your new single in three words.
N: Quirky, fresh, retro.
Love that! What’s the most defining moment of your childhood?
N: I grew up in a very Christian home so MTV and secular music was not allowed one bit. But when I was 5 years old, my parents left the house to run errands and I snuck into the living room to watch my favorite singers ever: The Spice Girls! Little did I know that my parents would be back sooner than later so they walked in on me glued to MTV and I got a good spanking. Nonetheless, that was the beginning of my obsession with music and what I believe as a very defining moment to the realization that I too would be in the music industry.
What would you do if you weren’t making music?
N: I’ve never really thought about it. I’m so focused on it as my career and I’ve always believed that if you have a plan B, you’re already setting yourself up for failure. However, when I was a kid, I loved adventure so I went from wanting to be a cashier at Wal-Mart to wanting to see the whole world and be an archeologist. Big imagination I have, I know.
Haha! What hidden talent do you have besides music?
N: I’ve been told I’m pretty good at doing makeup and hair
What was your first concert ever?
Which artist would you like to cover one of your songs?
N: Adele to cover my song, “Baby’s Got A Hold On Me.”
Which artist would you like to collab with?
N: Coldplay, hands down.
Do you have a celebrity crush?
N: Well, Liam Hemsworth is taken, but Thor [Chris Hemsworth] is really cute too
Amazing choice. What’s your go-to karaoke song?
N: “Cowboy Casanova” by Carrie Underwood.
N: I have 4 dogs. 2 Pomapoo pups (Cooper & Chaca), 1 German Shepherd (Gianni Bini), and 1 Chow Mix (Josh).
Whoa, that’s a lot of pups! Quick, what’s your favorite TV show and why?
N: Law And Order SVU, because one of my many career changes when I was a kid was that I wanted to be a forensic scientist.
Are you on Twitter?
N: Of course. Follow me! @noellebean!
