Sorry, Directioners. Even though you guys voted for One Direction over Big Time Rush (or, at least, Niall Horan over Kendall Schmidt) here on Teen.com, BTR is the officially the best boy band in the world. And that’s not us stating an opinion. It was just declared by PARADE magazine and Wetpaint (oh, and 800,000 voters) in its first-ever Boy Band smackdown.

We’re sure there are no hard feelings. (After all, One Direction raved about the American boy band and vice versa.) But BTR’s definitely enjoying the spotlight. In the interview for this coming Sunday’s edition of PARADE, the boys first discuss what it’s like being around each other basically 24/7. Logan says, “We argue like brothers, but we love each other.”

And although most of the spread was fun and energetic, one of the group’s best responses is about meeting Big Time Rush fans:
Kendall: ”How many artists have you seen just walk away and act like it’s not important?”
Carlos: ”I hate meeting my favorite bands because then it just ruins it.”
James: ”Yeah. They act like they’re better, and nobody’s better than somebody else. By all means, we’re not perfect, but I think the least we can do for our fans is be nice.”
Logan: “For us to even say hi to someone, to change their day around or change something inside of them — that’s a pretty cool feeling.”

Big time rush isn’t the best boy band in the world and neither is one direction cause the whole world didn’t vote. Just 800,000 people. So one direction has soooo many more fans that didn’t vote. And btr has many fans too that didn’t vote. And it’s just a magazine. Btr was created for a show though and the members of 1D actually had to audition for a singing competition. And does it really matter whose better cause all that matters is that they both keep making good music that everyone would enjoy listening too. And no one in this universe is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes even Btr and 1D

Seriously, stuff like this pisses me off. Just because One Direction and Big Time Rush are both boy bands why are they automatically against each other? You always see 1D fans arguing with BTR fans and vice versa. Just because they are boy bands doesn’t mean the fans have to be rude to other fandoms. Let them be and enjoy them both as bands. Stop making it a competition between what band is better. They are both great. And that should be enough.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Both bands work extremely hard, and tbh BTR deserves some recognition. 1D has plenty of attention from people (girls) just by being adorable and british, and there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s what works for them and really that doesn’t matter because they are part of an extremely small group of singers who actually have any talent. Along with BTR. So it’s good to see that some people aren’t as petty as I thought. That is all =3

BTR deserved this recognition. These boys wrote 75% of Elevate and 1D only 23% of Up All Night. When 1D can show me they’re serious enough to do this for real, then we’ll talk. I love both but BTR has earned my devotion and I’m still waiting for 1D to prove they deserve it. No matter how funny Kevin the plastic bird is BTR named thier elephant humidifier first…
I like 1D but I think BTR really deserved this. Some people are saying just cause 1D had a sold out concert in minutes it makes them better but really it doesn’t. 1D has many fans but so does BTR and BTR has their own TV show and such so they don’t have all the time to do what 1D does to focus on their music and making it sold out and getting their music top on itunes. And also 1D fans MAINLY (note the word mainly) In America/UK where as BTR had fans in Brazil That got their new single windows down #1 in itunes within minutes and their Better With U Tour had sold out dates within minutes also, so my opinion is that BTR really deserved their cover in Parade magazine

Usually bands or singers that are also on TV reealse music that is rather corny and just weird (I’m looking at you Jonas Brothers). Big Time Rush does not fit that description. The album appeals to everyone, kids, teens, and young adults such as myself. I bought the album because I liked two songs I heard on Youtube and was quite surprised how much I love the album. I actually usually do not like boy singers and boy bands but Big Time Rush is just a great band with a great CD. Every song on the CD is good. They made a good album to cater to their younger fans while also appealing to an older audience. Awesome album!

And this is my opinion too. 1D made number one on Itunes in minutes. 1D sold out a tour in an hour! 1D has girls hiding in there tour buses and suitcases everyday. BTR is writing their 3rd album (and yes writing unlike 1D who don’t write at all) and going on their 3rd headlining tour in 2013. BTR also has millions of fans WORLDWIDE.
