Miley Cyrus is no longer the innocent Disney princess we all knew and loved — she’s now an engaged 19-year-old with washboard abs and a little bit of a rebellious side that can make people slightly uncomfortable (who wouldn’t be when topless photos leak?). But, although she has admittedly put her Hannah Montana days in the past and suffers scrutiny on a daily basis, Miley shows that she is completely happy, confident and most importantly, in love, in the September 2012 issue of Marie Claire. When asked about people who told her she’s too young to marry Liam Hemsworth, she responded simply:
“Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with.”
But, even Miley is aware that both she and Liam are extremely young and don’t feel the need to rush into walking down the aisle any time soon.
“I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.”
As cheesy and cliche that Miam’s love is (they met on a movie set and turned their on-screen fling into real-life love), we kinda can’t help but be obsessed with their fairy tale story. But, no matter how much we love the romance, let’s be honest, there’s only one thing we want to know about — the engagement. Unfortch, Miley kept her lips sealed about how Liam popped the question, but did tell the mag that it was a “complete surprise.”

What she did reveal, however, is information about her gorgeous 3.5 karat engagement ring that cost Liam a whopping $100,000!
“I had no input. We’d been kind of talking about [getting engaged], and I saw something like it online at one point and thought it was really pretty, but I usually wear rose gold. I just love that it’s old and has a story. And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear.” Uh, yeah, Miley, we’d be realllllllly happy, too.
