The cast has yet to open up about their castmates’ scandal, and perhaps they won’t, but their director has. Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon wants fans to remember that Robert and Kristen are not their characters, the perfect and immortal Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. He told Entertainment Weekly, in which Kristen and Robert awkwardly cover is week’s Fall Movie Preview issue, “The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that.”

Obviously wanting to be supportive of his cast, Condon also asked that Twilight fans, who have always been extremely loyal to the fandom, be kind of Rob and Kristen in this difficult time, adding, “Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them.”
Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters November 16, giving Rob, Kristen and the Twilight team just over three months to smooth things over, or at least come up with a plan to make the Breaking Dawn press series bearable for everyone involved.

Rob did do an outstanding job in that scene. Even tghouh I knew everything was going to be okay I got teary eyed and felt heartbroken for him. How they did such an amazing job making Kristen/Bella look so dead I don’t know but they did a great job of selling it & making you feel for Edward.
i am excited to see breaking dawn pt 2 because if they can continue to represent bella and edwards luv without awkwardnes it will prove they are good actors
i think Bill Condon is so right…we shld definitely support them in their hard tyms n not try to judge anyone without knowing the complete truth

Don’t get it either…..I think its a double whammy for Kristen because she not only cheated on Rob she cheated with a married man with kids. I’m going to see the last installment of Twilight Breaking Dawn two, to support Rob. I think he’s been a real gentleman throught this whole thing…..
I agree with almost everything Bil Condon is saying but i feel like we always have had respect for the whole cast! And i am sure the fact they got famous out of these movies isn’t unbearable. But he is making it sound like that, but whatever. I just hope the best for Kristen and Robert.
KStew had the life. She had a job, a house, her dream, and a totally cute boyfriend. She just threw it all away for the director of her movie. Rupert was her boss. Isn’t it bad in buisness to date your boss? 20 years from now Kristen will be sitting in her bedroom, alone because no one will dare to date her after the scandal, listening to “The one that got away” on repeat and thinking about Rob.
