Step aside, Justin Bieber. Because while you got a cute, miniature tattoo of a music-related symbol, Big Time Rush’s Carlos Pena and Kendall Schmidt went bad-ass (bet you thought we were going to say ‘big time’) with these new babies you see above. Alright, so neither of them are “new” new — both Kendall’s sugar skull and Carlos’ tribal tat are from last month – but bear with us for a second.
During the boy band’s Jones Beach concert this week, MTV caught up with the guys and got Carlos to lift up his shirt(!) to reveal the right-side of his torso to bare his new ink for the first time (besides on Twitter). He then explained the process in which he got it done: ”It was like three hours, but I kind of got unlucky because it got split up. So for the first hour and a half, I had numbing cream. I didn’t feel it. And then we went and did a radio visit, and I came back, and the next hour and half was pretty terrible.” Umm, sounds like the most painful experience ever.
He then went into the vague details as to its meaning: ”There are a ton of meanings, which I could probably write a book about it, but it all has meaning. If it’s something that you love, definitely a cool thing to do, but make sure it has a meaning because my dad was kind of iffy about it.”
As for Kendall’s month-old skull, he says that he just likes them and that he already had three prior to the fresh shoulder ink. He then added: “It’s definitely not the last one.” Oh boy.
