While the world anxiously awaits the premiere of her new music video for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” — airing tomorrow on MTV — Taylor Swift opens up in Rolling Stone‘s latest issue about her whirlwind of relationship blunders since her last album, Speak Now.
Everyone knows that Tay is a master at lovey-dovey tunes, but has she ever been in love herself? She tells the magazine, “I know general things about love. How to treat people well, what you deserve and when to walk away. Other than that, love is a complete mystery — and that’s why I like to write about it.”
As for how her upcoming Red album will differ from her past music, she says of the last two years, “I went through a few roller coasters. Trying to chronicle each step of the way was challenging, because you go to some really dark places with the lyrics. Then in the next track, you’re talking about how amazing it is to meet somebody new.” (So basically, same concept, but fresh perspectives and experiences.)
What about her current boyfriend, Conor Kennedy? Will there be a single about him on the CD? Although that’s yet to be confirmed — and probably never will be — she does speak highly of her new beau in the the magazine as well. When approached as to whether she’s planning on purchasing a house near the Kennedy compound, she admits “[t]hat would be so amazing.” Now, only time will tell…
