You’ve seen the list of winners from the 2012 MTV VMAs — congrats to Demi Lovato, One Direction, Drake & more! — but who were the ultimate winners of the red carpet? In our opinion, this year’s lot was a lot darker and/or more plain than usual. Just based on Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry above, you can see black was a big player in the night’s ensembles. We’re not totally complaining, though. (After all, this was quite possibly Katy’s hottest look ever!)
