It feels like we’ve been without Glee (the show and, by association, the emotion), for aaaaages. Well, dry your tears because our favorite musical television extravaganza is back on air for its fourth season starting TONIGHT! We’re excited, especially for these reasons below. And don’t forget to tell us what you’re looking forward to in the comments!
1. Rachel’s Replacement
The first episode is called “The New Rachel,” and everyone’s competing to take her unofficial slot as star of New Directions. We’ve heard that new character Marley Rose is a serious contender for this spot, though Tina’s still convinced she deserves that role. How are they both gonna fare? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
2. New Directions = Popular
The New Directions kids are popular for the first time ever. It’s not just no slushies to the face, it’s sitting with the cool kids at lunch and mobs of kids signing up for Glee Club. Go figure.
3. Divas EVERYWHERE
Wade/Unique is at McKinley now, so things just got a lot more diva. Plus, Tina’s really asserting her, um, senior status this season. We can already imagine the epic song-and-dance numbers.
4. Relationship Status Updates
We’re not friends with them on FB, so there’s no way to know who’s broken up and who’s sticking together. What’s happening with Rachel and Finn? Are Tina and Mike still together? WE MUST KNOW.
5. Sue Sylvester’s Baby
Coach Sue had her baby, and it’s hopefully not the spawn of Satan? Let’s find out.
6. New Mean Girls
Kate Hudson plays Rachel’s acid-tongued dance instructor, Cassandra July, and Becca Tobin is coming on as the new Quinn/crazy-intense Cheerio. Woot woot for fresh villains and quippy dialogue!
7. Rachel In The Dorms
Because what’s this girl gonna do in a communal bathroom? (By the looks of this photo, she’s not doing too bad…)
Okay, so Jake Puckerman isn’t exactly “mini,” but he is the baby bro to former resident McKinley bad boy, Noah “Puck” Puckerman. We’re curious–will he wreak as much havoc on New Directions? Only time will tell. (What we can tell right now? He’s pretty freaking cute.)
9. “Call Me Maybe” Battle
Blaine, Unique, Tina, and Brittany go head-to-head to see who gets to belt Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit single. Things get cray. Yes. Just, YES. This video is everything you need.
10. WTF Storylines
Because this is Glee, and we know Ryan Murphy is going to throw us a curveball (or two or three). And we thoroughly anticipate the ride.
