Recently, the news broke that Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj would be joining the American Idol judges panel for season 12 of the show. Apparently, Nicki has gotten a bit of reality show fever, because E! has confirmed that the rapper will be joining celebs like The Kardashians and Kevin and Danielle Jonas by starring in a series of reality specials on the network starting in November.
According to preliminary reports, Nicki will be featured in a three-episode series that “will offer viewers exclusive intimate access to her personal and professional life…including never-before-seen footage.”
Nicki isn’t completely unfamiliar with cameras following her around and documenting her everyday life, however. Back in 2010, she starred in an MTV documentary, My Time Now. In it, she didn’t hold back her frustrations or her emotions, so we’re sure the newest reality trilogy will be just as juicy and entertaining, especially coming at a time where she’s balancing a perfume release, a judging gig and a huge tour!
Although the specials aren’t exactly what fans were expecting based on the rumors of a reality show that were buzzing around, Nicki isn’t going to completely shoot them to rest. She told Perez Hilton:
“I’m still considering. But, I will say that I find the more people see, is the more they understand, and then it’s the more they like you. If you only have such one-dimensional things to go off of like rumors, then you kind of never get to know the artist. When you pull them in your world, they see you as a real person. I’m not running away from it anymore.”
Hm, whether or not the full-blown reality show happens, let us be the first to say we’re completely stoked about the reality specials!
