If you were bummed about hit Nickelodeon show Victorious ending, don’t worry, because you’ll still get to Avan Jogia on the small screen!

It was announced on Thursday that the 20-year-old actor would star in the lead role in an ABC Family pilot titled Socio. This will definitely be a departure from the Nick show, as he’ll be playing a teenager named Danny with a mysterious past that involved murdering his aunt at only 11-years-old. He finally returns home after being released from custody and tries to reconnect with his childhood best friends. However, another murder happens and he is the prime suspect. Danny will do whatever it takes to clear his name, and of course, there is plenty of mystery along the way.

Avan isn’t the only Victorious star going outside their comfort zone! The trailer for Victoria Justice‘s latest film, The First Time, was released earlier this week, and it’s pretty clear she’s ready to branch outside her squeaky-clean image.

Will you watch Avan’s new show? Let us know in the comments.

Avan Jogia looks as though he should be wearing a thawb and a towel around his head roaming the streets of Jordan. He looks like he should be on al jazeera not Nickelodeon.
