Get excited X-Men: First Class fans, because the film’s sequel is finally coming together! It was just confirmed by the film’s direction, Bryan Singer, that Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and James McAvoy (Professor X) will all be back for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
He tweeted:
I’d like to officially welcome back James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, & Nicholas Hoult to #XMEN for #DaysOfFuturePast

Though Jennifer was in talks for quite some time, it was never officially confirmed until now. Also, it was believed a big reason they needed to shoot Catching Fire so quickly was so Jen could partake in this film’s sequel, so it looks like everything worked out!
Another big reveal from the director was that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen (who played Professor X and Magneto, respectively, in the franchise’s first three films) would be appearing in the prequel’s sequel.
Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 & @sirpatstew are joining the cast of #XMEN #DaysOfFuturePast #magneto #professorX More to come…

The film’s plot is being kept tightly under wraps, but has a release date of July 18, 2014. Pretty exciting stuff!
Are you glad Jen, Nicholas and the rest of the X-Men gang will be back for the sequel? Sound off in the comments!
