The X Factor, The Voice, American Idol, Duets — all of ’em have their shticks. One’s primary focus is purely based on vocal talent and not looks; one or two have the celebrity judges act as mentors, etc. But when you really think about it, they all could get boiled down to one thing: They’re all reality TV singing competitions. And with all of these currently on the air, recently wrapped or in progress, news of yet another singing competition was just announced. Wha-?!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nick Lachey will serve as host (as he did for The Sing-Off) of NBC’s upcoming singing competition, The Winner Is, “which will pit dueling contestants of all ages and configurations against one another to be judged by a studio audience.”
So, keeping in mind all of the previously mentioned shows, and even others that include singing like America’s Got Talent, we want you to tell us: Is there room for another reality TV singing competition? Or are there enough as it is? Weigh in!
