There’s already a documentary, a book, a fragrance and nail polish line (among countless other products) in his name, yet Justin Bieber‘s about to receive the royal treatment from an area of the industry he’s yet to conquer: television. Though the international superstar has made headway on TV as a character named Jason McCann on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, the latest news suggests a more Bieber-centric show in the pipeline.
According to a TV Guide exclusive, “The untitled family show [on ABC] would center on Bieber’s background before he got famous. The comedy is about a future pop star’s awkward teenage years and his unorthodox family.”
The sitcom idea was first conceived last year, but fell through prior to full development. Now, it’s in the running for production in the upcoming season. Justin’s role in the comedy, besides it being based on his life, would be as an executive producer of the show alongside manager Scooter Braun.
Not only is Justin delving into the world of TV, he’s also entering into the world of big-screen acting as well. Academy Award-nominee Mark Wahlberg confirms the 18-year-old in his upcoming, yet-to-be-titled basketball film (which Scooter’s co-producing), slated for shooting in February 2014. He says, ”The script’s good and now we’re trying to figure out [Justin's] whole schedule.”

I’d rather shove pins and needles into my eyes than inflict such a load of utter rubbish on the poor unsuspecting public.

If he’s not going to act in it, I think it could be very interesting. (Whereas, if he was going to be the “star” of the show it would seem more like a money-making thing than actually wanting to make a GOOD show). I would at least watch a season, to give it a shot.
