Though we’re sad 2012 is coming to and end, it certainly was a year of amazing movies. We finally got to see The Hunger Games on the big screen, and we were met with mixed emotions as The Twilight Saga came to an end. However, there is a whole slew of movies that are coming out in 2013, and they all look pretty awesome. So, though it was tough, we decided to narrow it down to the top 13 movies we’re excited for in 2013. Check them out below!

Struck By Lightning (January 11, 2013)

Chris Colfer not only stars in the upcoming film Struck By Lightning, but he wrote the screenplay, too! Also starring Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland, Pitch Perfect acrtress Rebel Wilson and more, it centers on a high schooler (played by Chris), who blackmails his peers into writing for a literary magazine in order to help him get into the college of his dreams.

Ender’s Game (November 1, 2013)

OK, we know that most of the movies on our list are adaptations of YA novels, but we just can’t help it — they all look so good! This next flick we’re excited for is Ender’s Game. This book was actually published back in 1985, and has taken this long to get to the big screen due to its complex nature. Starring Hugo‘s Asa Butterfield, Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, and Harrison Ford, it’s about a gifted young boy (Asa) who is recruited to a special school to help fight off an alien attack.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (November 22, 2013)

Last, but certainly not least, it’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire! Though we’ve seen sneak peeks of the cast filming in Atlanta and Hawaii, we just can’t wait to see this movie hit the big screen. Obviously the first one was great, but we’re excited to see the cast back in action (Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, etc), as well as the new additions (Jena Malone as Johanna Mason, Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair), and Francis Lawrence (the new director) bring CF to the big screen.

NICE. “Struck By Lightning”, “Beautiful Creatures”, “Ender’s Game” (Harrison Ford AND one of my favorite sci-fi books/series!) and “The Host”.

I’ll watch “The Lone Ranger” for Johnny Depp, but it looks kind of freaky. More like a South American or African Tonto, but I’m not familiar with all the North American tribes, by any means, so I could be wrong.
