It’s not every day that celebrities openly reveal how they’d fight for the affection of their significant others. But that’s exactly what happened during Emma Stone‘s recent interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz.

While promoting her new film, Gangster Squad, the 24-year-old actress was questioned as to whether or not she was prepared to battle Shailene Woodley over boyfriend Andrew Garfield. Of course, this is in reference to the Secret Life star’s casting as Peter Parker’s other love interest, Mary Jane Watson, in the upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. Emma’s coy-yet-confident response: “I think I am; I think I’m ready.”

As we learned from Emma’s segment on The Ellen Show, filming for the second installment to the franchise begins this month, which left little time for Emma and her on-screen rival to get to know one another. But, Emma insists that it’s all friendly: “[Shailene's] really cool… I went to dinner with her. She’s really, really nice. She’s a cool girl.”

Okay, so that’s good. BUT, the big question on everyone’s minds: What’s the fate of Gwen Stacy? Reports have suggested that Emma’s character will get the axe, since that’s what happens in the comics. But after insinuating that she will, in fact, die in the next film, Josh Horowitz got an ear-full from the actress: “Will she [die], Josh? Is it up to you? Did you write the script? Did you ghost-write the script?”
