Although we have a spin-off with Klaus and Hayley to look forward to in the next few months, the return of The Vampire Diaries is tonight! In just a half hour (East Coast time), the mid-season 4 premiere episode, entitled “After School Special,” will begin. But, before you watch, here’s what you’ll need to look out for:

If you recall, April was left alone with Rebekah’s stabbed corpse in the winter finale. So you can guess what happens next. Rebekah returns! Stefan, Elena and Caroline will be forced to answer to the Original Vampire’s questions about the search for a cure to vampirism. Meanwhile, Matt and Damon begin training Jeremy, so he doesn’t have the urge to kill every vampire in his path (including his sister, Elena). But, as one who watches the show frequently will know, Klaus is not a very patient hybrid, so he’ll be determined to speed up the process. For more details, you’re gonna have to watch tonight’s show. And while you’re at it, join the TVD conversation on our message board before, during and after the ep. We can tell it’s gonna be a good one…
