Emma Stone Eep The Croods

Dreamworks

If you were surprised when Emma Stone went blonde for her role in Spider-man, you’re going to be shocked by her look in her next film, The Croods, in theaters this March. Let’s just say, it’s a little messy.

But that’s to be expected since she’s playing a character who was born long before the invention of the curling iron.. or the wheel for that matter.

In the animated flick, Stone lends her voice to the character of Eep, a teenage cavegirl who not only has to deal with keeping her crazy family members from embarrassing her in front of her crush (played by Ryan Reynolds), but also must avoid being eaten for dinner by a plethora of primitive monsters.

The movie’s director, Chris Sanders, is the guy who brought you ‘Lilo & Stitch’ and ‘How To Train Your Dragon.’ And, get this, the film has actually been in the works since 2005. Of course, we have to believe the look of Eep changed once Emma came on board, hence the character’s fiery red hair, freckles and stunning blue/green eyes.

I was lucky enough to get to see a sneak peek of the first 40 minutes of the movie last month and, I won’t give anything away, but I’m very excited to see the full movie. It’s really cute!

Check out the full character poster below and mark your calendars for March 22.
