Adele already picked up a Golden Globe for her James Bond theme “Skyfall,” but now we’ll get to hear her perform the tune live at this year’s Oscars’ ceremony. It was confirmed on Wednesday that the 24-year-old songstress would indeed take the stage during the 85th annual Academy Awards ceremony to sing “Skyfall.”
Though it was known she would at least attend the star-studded ceremony in L.A. on February 24 — where many believe she’s a shoe-in — there was some speculation as to whether or not she would perform. After Adele’s sky rocket to fame last year (she picked up six Grammys at last year’s ceremony), she was plagued with vocal chord issues, which made it near impossible to sing. However, it appears as though she’s recovered enough to sing “Skyfall” at the Oscars. Not bad for a song she claims it took her only 10 minutes to write.
That’s not the only exciting news in the world of Adele. The British singer gave birth to her first child back in October — a son with her boyfriend Simon Konecki — but has yet to reveal the name, claiming that information was too personal to share with the world. However, Adele was spotted out and about in L.A. earlier this week wearing a gold necklace bearing the name “Angelo.” Though it’s not confirmed, many believe this could be the name Adele was hesitant to reveal.
Do you like Angelo as a baby name? And are you excited to see Adele perform at the Oscars? Sound off in the comments.
