‘PLL’ Recap: Which Girl Had it the Hardest on Last Night’s Ep?

by: on | in Pretty Little Liars | 3 Comments

Every time we watch an episode of Pretty Little Liars, we always hope that our questions will be answered. Instead, however, we’re left with even more dilemmas. Like, why’s Ezra’s brother in the picture all of a sudden? And, where’s Spencer getting the money for a private investigator? Okay, those aren’t the big issues, but still. Here’s what really went down on “Dead to Me”…

1. What happened with Emily? She’s still harboring feelings of guilt after killing defending herself against “Nate.” So, she visits Dr. Sullivan to discuss those specific emotions. However, when the doctor puts her under hypnosis, Emily “remembers” killing Alison with a shovel. (Yeah. Like viewers would ever believe that.) In the end, though, we learn that she’s mixing up memories, and remembers holding a shovel outside of Alison’s grave, with a blonde girl in a red hoodie close by. Anyone else thinking Ali’s alive — or has a twin??

2. What happened with Aria? Clearly the people over at ABC Family knew that there would be an Ezra-shaped hole in our hearts after his teary departure last week, and decided to send in his brother, Wesley, to fill the void. Supposedly, his dorm was “being fumigated,” so Fitz said he could crash at his place. But soon we find out that he’s hiding from his mother. Like Ezra, he’s trying to get out of her tight grip on him. He even flirts with his teacher to get kicked out of school! Though, it didn’t do much to affect his relationship with his mom, who keeps convincing the board members of his school to not kick him out, so much as anger his teacher’s husband. Oops.

3. What happened with Hanna? Maybe the question should be, what happened with Caleb? At school, Caleb receives a call from his mother, telling him that the aunt who raised him is moving to Australia. Random. Though Caleb’s reluctant to even acknowledge the situation, Hanna convinces him to go to his former home to make peace. When they arrive, Caleb’s Uncle Jamie is there to welcome them. Or… is it really his uncle? According to Caleb, he didn’t meet his uncle until he was five years old. But before they leave, Jamie hands Hanna a picture of Caleb as a baby being held by a man who’s cut off in the picture, but is wearing a particular ring; the same ring Uncle Jamie was wearing. This leads Hanna to believe that the guy’s actually Caleb’s dad. Think it’s enough to convince her boyfriend?

4. What happened with Spencer? To say she’s not coping well with her break-up with Toby would be an understatement. She’s lashing out at all her friends, and even taking it out on Jason. She even yells at him during Ali’s memorial, telling him Ali was pregnant the night she was murdered. Subtle, girl, subtle. Anyway, she’s still keeping the Toby-is-”A” thing under wraps. That private investigator finds out where that key leads — to an empty room with ripped off photos all over the walls. Get ready to see more Spencer the Crazy next week!
