CBS Announces Grammy Awards 2013 Wardrobe Ban Advisory

by: on | in Entertainment News | 2 Comments

If CBS has its way, the Grammy Awards red carpet may be a little more… lackluster this year. Just days before this weekend’s music-fueled ceremony, the network’s released a wardrobe advisory, banning outfits like the ones you see above on Rihanna, P!nk and Fergie from airing on television.

In the notice, published on Deadline, CBS requests the following: “Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible “puffy” bare skin exposure…” Etc. Etc. Etc.

Though it’s understandable for any network to wish to avoid wardrobe malfunctions (i.e. Janet Jackson‘s infamous Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Show fiasco) on its live broadcast, it’s still unprecedented.

Up until now, buzz about the 2013 Grammys has remained positive (besides Scooter Braun’s verbal disappointment over Justin Bieber‘s snub) for a great majority. Slated to perform are Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran (with Elton John!), Carrie Underwood and more. To see the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, tune in to CBS this Sunday, February 10 at 8p ET/PT. What do you think of the wardrobe ban advisory? Is it uncalled for, or do you think it’s necessary? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Eh.. It may be neccesary. Slipups are possible but if people work hard to stay fit let them show off. There are areas that should be covered, like around the boob, because you don’t know if one false move will have you in the news for months!
Imagine: P!nk Nip Slip!! How does her child feel?
