First-time Oscar producer Craig Zadan says, “We were bewildered. How can you have the biggest franchise in motion-picture history, Harry Potter, and yet no one has ever been on the Oscars? (It) was strange to us.”
At the 2013 Academy Awards, Daniel Radcliffe, though not nominated for any of the coveted honors, will be a part of the show’s “music in movies” theme. The producers are aware of Daniel’s talents, since they also produced a revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, which Daniel took part in at the end of his Potter career.
Other actors set to make their Oscar debut include Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who starred in some of 2012′s arguably best films, including 21 Jump Street and The Dark Knight Rises, respectively. They will also be special guests in the super-secretive production. To see the 85th Annual Academy Awards, tune in to ABC on Sunday, February 24, 2013.
