Claire Holt Cast in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Spin-Off, ‘The Originals’

For those who are fans of the new relationship between Stefan and Rebekah on The Vampire Diaries, it doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to ship them as an item for much longer. Because, as you’ve probably heard by now, TVD spin-off The Originals focuses on the Original family of vampires. Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies already agreed to the move from Mystic Falls. So it was only a matter of time before their baby sister, Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, made the shift as well.

According to Deadline, the Australian actress has been rumored to join the show from its inception, but “talks hit a snag” — until now. She says of the news,

Claire will be joining real-life best friend, and fellow Aussie star, Phoebe Tonkin, who plays werewolf Hayley on TVD. As of now, these are the only four cast members — Claire, Phoebe, Joseph and Daniel — who are making the transition from The Vampire Diaries to The Originals.

Other, non–related talents on the new series include Leah Pipes (Camille), Danielle Campbell (Davina), Charles Michael Davis (Marcel) and Daniella Pineda (Sophie).
