My name is Stephanie and I live in Brooklyn, NY. My friend Zohar and I were talking one day, and decided that we wanted to do the Schools4All contest where Justin Bieber comes to your school if you raise enough money. The money raised supports education in developing nations!
A few weeks ago, Zohar told our principal about the contest, but she originally said no due to a lot of events taking place at our school. But, not willing to take ‘no’ for an answer, we politely approached our principal again, and encouraged her to join Pencils of Promise — and she agreed! We were so happy that we were able to participate, and ran to tell our class about the contest. Without even thinking, our classmates agreed to contribute. Our friends, Shira, Lauren, Maxine and Rachel, even helped us make a book at a carnival to tell parents and students to donate money, and explain the concept of PoP. We made signs, put up videos of Justin Bieber visiting hospitals, and told everyone how he works with Pencils of Promise. When the carnival came to an end, we counted how much the people donated and we made $134 dollars in one sitting! We were so proud because we were doing it for a good cause and, maybe, just maybe, we can get to meet Justin Bieber. We hope to raise more money for PoP, so keep those donations coming!
